Living abroad

Living abroad is a different and interesting perspective. Because unlike just being a tourist somewhere, you actually need to do some longer term thinking and watch out more. We need to watch out more, where we are spending our money at and not being too careless, as like only visiting the city as a tourist.

There are quite a lot of differences between Spain and Slovenia. One is the differences in pricing, which till now looked a lot lower than in Slovenia.  Some prices were even half the price, but not to forget, we are doing most of our shopping in a low cost and “lower quality product” store. We also found differences in the culture, with a lot of the talk focused on partying and drinking and the differences between the countries, mostly on how parties differ from countries and what kind of music is played on them. But often, outside school and work, people often don’t understand English and we are constantly translating words and sentences into Spanish, using google translate. Another thing to mention is that unlike Ljubljana, Zaragoza has a feeling of being less cramped together, giving the city a more relaxed feeling for everyone.

Because we are living alone, we also need to take care of ourselves, including cooking and cleaning up. We also need to find out and figure out where we need to be and when, and then found our way throughout the city, where were we even are and where are our destinations.  We need to watch out that we don’t get there late and sleep in, the phone alarm is being very helpful at that. We have been given various place and location information and recommendations, where we can go and stay away from.

I feel very safe and comfortable everywhere we go, as the city is very safe. But just to be safe, we always look after our stuff and watch out for each other. I am also constantly keeping up with my relatives in Slovenia. It is also way more relaxing than in Slovenia, maybe something to do with the lack of parents, just joking.
