The first week of classes passed quickly, and I gained much practical knowledge. On Monday, we started with a tour of the school. We visited workshops for mechanical engineering, carpentry, roofing, and plumbing. Students have a lot of work to do, as they must do a certain task independently or in a group. In the carpentry workshop, they built small houses, plumbers made a central heating system, and machinists worked independently behind CNC machines. We also visited the gymnasium, which is very spacious.

After the tour, we started our education. For the first week, we learned to model using the SolidWorks program. We have been refreshing our memory to construct, draw a workshop drawing, and assemble different pieces in assembly mode. We worked independently, and the professor gave us everything we needed to complete the task. If we needed to know something, he would be happy to show it to us. I also got a pinkie bike. We always cycled around the city and the surrounding area and looked at nature and architecture. We weren’t hungry either because we made lunch or went out to eat. We took the bike to the school workshop for repair on Wednesday, where bike mechanics and engine mechanics are trained. I just discovered that there was even a program for this type of mechanic. They also showed us all the workshops, which impressed me. They also use the Unior tool for repairs. In the evening, with the professor from the host school, we went to a restaurant and had dinner. The food and drinks were great. On Thursday, the school had a technology day. They presented us with various 3D printing methods and a lecture on using materials for 3D printing. On Friday, however, school lasted only until eleven o’clock. We used the rest of the day to cycle around Herning.
