Hola!

I had to get up really early…at 8 a.m.! 😂 Today was the day we met our mentors in the firms. The first corporation we visited was a family business Ancoratex which is approximately 5km away from our school. Did I mention that there are a lot of hills and mountains? Well this firm is located above us if I can say it like that. When my friend said ‘’We can walk, it’s not that far’’ I just looked at her with anger and said ‘’Are you crazy!?’’

The second firm is located in a city called Candelaria, it’s a little bit less than an hour of driving out of Santa Cruz where we’re located. Another small family business called Arealongasa, they bind fabric there. They do everything nice and slow, noone is in a rush. The only thing I’m wondering about is how will we communicate because noone speaks english… Oh god…

Later in the afternoon me and Lara went to a center. We got to a bus station and waited for a bus number 906. It finally came around the corner, we got up to the road onto the curb and waited for the bus to stop…but it didn’t. I made eye contact with the driver as he just slowly rolled by. Me and Lara looked at eachother and started complaining about what just happened.

We decided to just walk to the city center even though it’s quite far away. At least we stretched our legs and worked out a little. Later we learned that you always have to wave to the bus driver if you want for the bus to stop. It’s a good thing that we weren’t in a rush, we were just headed to the city to explore every little corner and waste our time.

And you should know. If you think that we are having fun on sun with 25°C… You are wrong! It’s cloudy, rainy and windy all the time. Although it’s 20 degrees it’s still cold.
