The Trip to Aarhus was…

The trip to Aarhus was one of the best trip for now in our days in Denmark, even if the weather was quite bad. We began our day early bacause our train from Herning starts at 8:25. The train ride took us about an hour and a half, in this time we enjoyed the view of the Danish landscape.
After we arrived, we first went to the city center and walked around to see some shops. Aarhus is more biger than Herning and it lays next to the sea. Then, we chose to walk around the area near the sea, where we also got to see the majestic skyscraper Aarhus Øje, which is 142 meters tall but we haven’t see the top because of the fog. The modern skyscraper was very different because it looks so futuristic.

After that we went back to the center to eat in The Burger Boom, which was recommended by our professor from Herning school. The burgers were really good and not that expensive, and it was a nice break after that long walking trip. After lunch, we visited Salling Aarhus, where we went to the rooftop terrace. The view of the city from the top was been really beautiful.

We also visited the Viking Museum, where we learned that Aarhus was once an important Viking settlement. We saw old tools and remains of ancient buildings, which helped us understand how people lived many centuries ago. We wanted to visit ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum as well, but it was already closing, so we went to a nearby park with a beautiful old windmill and a botanical garden but that one was closed too.

When it got dark, we return back to the train station. We were tired of all that walking but we got some new experience. The trip to Aarhus was a great combination of history, modern architecture.
