Coming Home

After four weeks on Tenerife, it was finally time to go home. On the last day of school, we said goodbye to our Spanish teachers and classmates, and then it was time to leave.

We woke up at 6 in the morning and packed the rest of the toiletries we hadn’t packed the day before. For breakfast, I had ramen noodles and some Greek yogurt. We were scheduled to take the shuttle bus at 8:18, but we arrived early and so did the driver so we actually left around 8.

When we arrived at the airport, we were shocked. There was a line so long that you couldn’t see either end of it. Luckily, our line was much shorter. We weighed our bags, and everything was fine. After that, we went to the gate and waited there.

I started to feel hungry, so I bought a sandwich from a vending machine. I don’t know how to describe it. It was both the best and the worst thing at the same time.

At 11, they finally let us onto the plane, and we boarded within the next thirty minutes. They also gave us food on the plane, and we practically inhaled it. It was amazing. After eating, I fell into a deep sleep.

I woke up around 2, and everything hurt my back, my neck, and my legs. After landing, we had a layover in Zurich before our next flight. During that time, we mostly ate, drank, and wrote blog  posts.

We were already quite tired while waiting for the second plane, and when we finally got on, we had to wait another 40 minutes due to technical difficulties. I did not like that whatsoever and my head hurt the whole time.

When I collected my suitcase, I noticed how dirty it was. After that, I got into the car with my family, and we drove home, all exhausted. Once I got home, I took a shower and quickly fell asleep.
