After arriving here in Tenerife I quickly realised that graffiti here was way more than just words on a wall. Unlike in Ljubljana where you
just see tags, here the graffiti is much more than just words on a wall. Here you can see much more colorful and artistic pieces.聽 You can see it basicaly everywhere. I even saw a restaurant advertisement painted on the wall. I found it to be very niceley made and diferent to what I know. Art like this adds a really nice touch to the chaos riddled streets.
While riding a bus to the Las Terestias beach I saw a wall beautify painted like so:
The words “Nos queremos vivas” in english mean: We want ourselfs alive. This is a powerful Spanish feminist quote. Its used to prostest gender based violence and femicide.
When we arrived at the beach I was met with a plesant suprise. On the rocks there was a painted picture of Frida Khalo and Joseph Turner.
Just a couple of steps from the beach, we found something very creepy. There were some strange-looking structures, and since we didn鈥檛 know what they were, we decided to investigate. The entrances leading down were blocked either with iron plates or bricks. Only one of them was open. Unfortunately, I was too scared to go down the narrow staircase.
On the ride back home, I couldn鈥檛 stop thinking about those structures, so I tried to find information about them online. I couldn鈥檛 find anything about these exact structures, but I did discover that there are many bunkers from World War II in that area.
I came to the conclusion that these structures are probably bunkers as well.
