Madrid is the capital of Spain and with 3,223,334 people living in it, it si also the most populated city in Spain. It lies on the River Manzanares in the central part of the Iberian Peninsula. It lies at an altitude of 650m.

While Madrid possesses modern infrastructure, it has preserved the look and feel of many of its historic neighbourhoods and streets which is really obvious when you take a walk through them.

The city also has interesting history as the site of modern-day Madrid has been occupied since prehistoric times, and there are archeological remains of the Celtic Carpetani settlement, Roman villas, a Visigoth basilica and three Visigoth necropoleis.

Its climate is Mediterranean with continental influences, so it is very similar to Slovenia, and isnt hard to get used to it. The difrence is that in Madrid it is hotter.

At present, 8.2% of Madrids grounds are green areas, which means its citizens have access to a green area within a 15 minute walk.
