So we’ve managed to miss a flight. Which increased our stay in Frankfurt for about 12 hours.

It began in Helsinki where we met with other students that were on exchange in Finland. There were 10 of us. When we saw that our flight has been delayed for 30 minutes. We’ve already been on a tight schedule before the delay, but after it, the odds weren’t in our favour at all. We boarded our flight 30 minutes later and we did not know what will happen if we miss the flight so we were all a bit nervous. When the time was 20 minutes until our flight we were still up in the air and asked the stewardess if there’s any chance we’ll make it and she said its very low. By the time we’ve arrived at the Frankfurt Airport, we should already be on our next flight and because Frankfurt Airport is so big it took another 5-10 minutes before we could leave the airplane. When we arrived at the boarding gates we were told that the plane has already took off. We didn’t know what to do, but we asked the guy at the info point and he pointed us towards Lufthansa offices where we were given a new ticket, ride and a stay at a hotel, because it was their fault we’ve missed and the next flight was 12 hours away. We went to the hotel via taxi and went into our rooms. Because the hotel was located out of the city, there wasn’t really much to see around it, although we went out to eat at a McDonald’s, afterwards we went to sleep. In the morning we woke up at 5:50AM and ate our breakfast, taken a taxi back to the airport and waited until our flight at 9 AM. We were on the same plane as the Exatlon Slovenia winners, so at Brnik we’ve had quite a reception. We said goodbye’s and went our way.

Besides a missed flight, everything turned out fine.
