Lifestyle in Finland is completely different than in Slovenia.

Staying in Finland showed us how nations worldwide differ from each other. From what I am seeing I can say that Finnish people are positive, calm and friendly, they don’t fight at all. Finnish people are also very trustworthy, at some public places they are keeping their bikes unlocked and the shopping centres don’t lock their carts. Although Finnish people are very friendly and positive they are much less social than us Slovenians, a student told me he wasn’t used to such long conversations when we were talking to eachother, they also have really short replies. Living here can get expensive really quickly for us, because we’re not used to their prices that are 2-3 times higher than ours. Free time here can be spent in the summer at the water park, swimming in lakes, motocross tracks, frisbee,… In the winter most of these activities can’t be used because of darkness and cold but you can play hockey, ski run, go to a museum, sauna, bowling,,… For the weekends many people go to some bar, disco, that they have many of here in Mikkeli. There are not as many tourist destinations here, as we are used to in Slovenia. So you are left with a couple of things to do during our free time, maily: sauna, bowling, bar, go to a hockey game,…

Life in Finland isn’t bad at all, just the presence of polar night is kind of exhausting.
