On Tuesday, February 28, 2023, the students and the teacher went to the professional school Erhvervsuddannelsescenter (EUC Syd). We were welcomed at school with warm coffee and smiling faces. After coffee and a short conversation, we went on a tour of the school. We learned that this building was a factory some time ago and that they kept the most beautiful part of the factory and renovated and converted the rest of the factory into the classrooms and rooms needed for the school. All classrooms are equipped with practical components and parts for learning (robots, 3D printers, computers, pneumatic and hydraulic components). In the school, classes are arranged for lessons and practical spaces where there are machines and dirty work. We learned that students are in school for only a third of the year, and the rest are in a company or with an employer. After the tour, we said goodbye and went to see the city.
