To be honest, my first impression was not the best. When the plane landed, all tired but happy about this new opportunity, we went to the subway where we boarded the train to Helsinki. There our paths diverged and we boarded the train to Jyvaskyla. The drive there was supposed to take 2 and 30 minutes, but here was a turning point. Unexpectedly, we stopped at the station on the way to our city and waited there for a train coming from the opposite side, 30 minutes late. This was quite a surprise for me, because Finland has a very well-organized railway transport. After more than 3 hours, we finally arrived. Then we continued on foot to our apartment. After a 20-minute walk in the snow and cold, we reached our apartment, which exceeded my expectations. The journey dragged on, but in my head the whole time I had the first day here, there is still a lot of time to improve my first impression. Day by day my impression grew and became better. I was surprised by the peace and quiet that reigned in the city. Not only that, but also the amount of nature, lakes and trees that surrounded us. Finns are very connected to nature, which is reflected in their high level of environmental awareness and sustainability. I was impressed by the purity of nature and all the possibilities for hiking, skiing and other outdoor activities. Finally, to summarize, the impression of Finland can vary greatly depending on personal values and interests. Finland offers a rich and varied experience that can please a wide range of visitors.
