The talk

One day I was talking to a teacher trainee at a school in Denmark. During the conversation, I found out that they really have a huge school, which is very well equipped with various devices and materials for learning about pneumatics, hydraulics, robotics, automation, programming, assembly and many other areas. They had a lot of equipment, which surprised me a lot, but I had the feeling that they have many students, since the school is quite large which later i also found out its not true.

Unexpected suprise

When i told the teacher that they have alot of spase he disagreed with me and told me that they didn’t have enough space at the school for new machines that the students could use in their learning. It made me think that despite the huge equipment, space limitations clearly make a problem, which surprised me a bit.

Later, I also came to the conclusion that we students from Slovenia are better or more universally educated in mechatronics. We have a lot of theoretical knowledge, which allowed us to do the practical exercises very well, because we had a good understanding of the theory, which helped us in our work.

Conclusion

This was an interesting comparison, as it showed me how different approaches to education affect our ability to learn and solve practical tasks. Overall experience was amazing and now i started to think that we need more practical work in school so we know where to put our knowladge in real world.
