While staying in Finland, I had the chance to use their trains quite a lot, so I started noticing some clear differences compared to Slovenia.
The first thing that really stood out to me was the speed. Trains in Finland are much faster and can reach around 200 km/h, which is something you don鈥檛 really experience in Slovenia. Because of that, traveling between cities feels much quicker and more efficient.
Another thing I found interesting is that in Finland you always get an assigned seat when you buy a ticket. You know exactly where you鈥檙e going to sit, and there鈥檚 no stress about finding a free place. In Slovenia, this is not really the case, and sometimes you have to look around for a seat or even stand if it鈥檚 crowded.
I also noticed that trains in Finland are very punctual. During my time there, they were almost never late, which honestly surprised me. In Slovenia, delays are much more common, and people are kind of used to them.
Personally, I think the railway system in Finland is much better organized. Everything feels more reliable and calm, and traveling by train is actually a nice experience. In Slovenia, it works, but it can sometimes be a bit stressful and less predictable. Overall, I definitely preferred using trains in Finland.
