I never thought that I would ever make a corset for myself, I think its a waste of time if im not going to wear it, but i decided that enough was enough and make one!
The professors at school told us that like the other students, we are going to be making a corset. That’s when me and ziva decided to make a corset for me, since im not making one for myself in Slovenia. They gave us basic instructions, showed us the plan and how the corset will look once finished. They asked for who we are making it,and then gave us a basic pattern in size XL for me. The lead professor helped us modify it to better fit my posture, which was interesting since they do it in a completely different way that we do. Then it was time to cut the fabric, in which i laughed, since the scissors we got were dull and only cut at the very tip. Then it was standard procedure of making a corset, when we had to, we asked for help and then were very happy to instruct us further. The professors made sure we were doing well and making the corset correctly, especially when it came time to make the sleeve seams.

I STRONGLY DISLIKE this process, I always get soo confused hot to turn the sleeve through the hole and then turn the fabric to make a seam……Im confused just writing about it! Eventually, after a few tries and lots of correcting, I did it, i made the sleeve seems! Now it was time to do the final ironing and plan the holes for the front.

Thankfully i didn’t have to do the holes on the old, scary tools, Doroteja did it! Once the holes were made we cut some try on string and off we went to go home! At the apartment I had to try it on, ziva wouldn’t let me leave the room without doing it. So I put on the corset and she helped me tie it. It was funny how it was a bit harder to breathe, she said I looked awesome in a corset and that I should wear it to school. Haha, no. I won’t.
I loved the experience of making the corset, and i like the finished product. Will I wear it? Probably not.
