I was so sad when we found out there are no beaches close to us. At least free and clean beaches that we are allowed to swim in. So when we found one across the island, it was time to travel!

I love diving for seashells in the sea, so I already had my goggles with me. I also grabbed sunscreen, a towel and a change of clothes. We drove by bus for an hour and a half, then walked twenty minutes to the beach. The first time we went, we sat on the sand so we didn’t have to pay for the lounge chairs. The sand was EVERYWHERE and it was scorching hot, meanwhile the water was freezing cold, which I am used to. I was the first one fully in the water, the rest had to join slowly. I went shallow diving for seashells, which there weren’t many of to begin with, at least not big ones. I found a lot of small seashells, mostly white snail shells and swirly shells. I saw some nicely sized fish while looking underwater, some sea bottom dwellers and that was about it. Almost no fish close to the shore as is expected. I didn’t swim far as I am not familiar with these waters but I made sure to swim up and down to search a wide area while diving.

As all things do, my fun at the beach had to end eventually and we all went to the bus stop in los Christianos, where we just bearly missed the bus and had to wait for the next one in half an hour. I will definitely try to go to the beach again!
