Abouth Tallinn

The city of Tallinn is, for those of you who don’t yet know the capital of Estonia and last year had a population of 437,600. The city from a tourist point of view is very big and busy, which means you can get lost quickly. When we arrived with classmates, we thought we would have a lot of trouble navigating the city as there are almost no hills or special points to navigate. If you are near the old city center, you can follow the very high hotel Vir, which also has a museum, where the Soviet KGB intelligence service had its center during the Cold War. In the very old city center, there is still architecture from medieval times, and the locals know how to use it very well, not only for tourism as such but also for bars. On the very old square of the city is located a really cool pub on the theme of the Middle Ages. Not only the interior is on the theme of that time (tables, chairs, chandeliers,…) but also the staff is dressed like they are from that time. And they advertise it well, they have a so-called advertiser on the street in front of the inn urging people to come to their inn for food and drink. When you see more of life from the 21st century, you can turn from one of the shopping centers, where there are various restaurants and shops inside. You can also visit one of the lookout points from which the whole city can be seen very nicely, both during the day and at night.

The city is very interesting and nice to look at. Many nice little stores and lots of restaurants. At night the city is even more beautiful. Too bad the weather isn’t a bit nicer.
