SLEEPOVER AT THE MALL

If anyone thinks that staying here is all fun and carefree, let me tell you my story. One day, I decided I needed a new hoodie, because I didn鈥檛 want to wear the same one all month. I didn’t want to go alone, so I took 沤iva with me.

We went to three shopping malls, but i couldn’t find a single good hoodie, because they were already selling summer clothes, what a shame. When we got to the last shopping mall, it was already dark, around 9 p.m. The mall didn’t feel like a normal one. It was like one huge store with different brands all mixed together.

We kept searching and laughing about, how we were both touching every piece, just to check the material. While wondering around, two workers said something to us in Spanish. We clearly didn’t understood them, but we thought they were telling us to check their section, so we started looking around.

We were kinda busy looking at the clothes, so we hadn’t noticed when they walked away. They probably thought we had already left too.

Then out of nowhere, the lights went out. Me and 沤iva looked at each other and immediately started panicking.

Everything felt quiet and just wrong. We were looking around, confused and trying not to be more stressed. After a moment, we saw the same two workers again. They told us it was closing time. And after that they disappeared. Again.

The store was big, dark and we had no idea where the exit was. We stared walking faster, trying to find a way out, but every corner looked the same.

After a while, we saw a group of people. They were workers, heading somewhere. We followed them, hoping they were heading outside. They didn’t, but they went to the freaking staff only room and disappeared behind a door.

Me and 沤iva, were panicking and searching, until we finally found an exit. When we got outside, I felt relieved and extremely embarrassed. We even joked that we should call our teachers and ask if we could sleep there, but honestly, it didn’t feel funny at the time.

In the end, I didn’t get a hoodie and almost got locked inside a shopping mall. I learned an important lesson, to always check the time and closing hours.
