In the first week of staying here, a funny and cute fashion show was being held at the school. The school organized a runway for the dogs, who were wearing a fashionable pieces. The fashionable pieces were made by us and other Italian students who are also here with Erasmus.

The theme was harlequin clowns, who originally come from Italy. Our professor helped us make the costumes and guided us through the process. The Spanish professors tried to help us as well. The only problem was the language barrier. First, we had to pick a dog. We were given the dog’s name, breed and a size. I chose a chihuahua, and the size was XS. We had very little time, only a day and a half to prepare everything. We started by making sketches of the costumes. After that, we hurried to create the patterns. Then we began sewing and putting all the pieces together. It was stressful but also very exciting. When we finished the costumes, the dogs arrived. One of them was barking nonstop. We felt sad and happy at the same time. The dogs were stressed, because of so many people and other dogs. Soon it was time for them to walk down the runway. The funniest things was that I got the dog who was baking nonstop. Her name was Bella and she was a real sassy queen. The students laughed the most at my chihuahua. The owner even put paw accessories around the Bella’s neck. That made the whole situation even funnier. The owners took the dogs to the start of the runway. Bella refused to walk in straight line. Instead, she kept turning around and barking loudly.

Despite everything I think I had the most beautiful model not because of her breed or because of the fashion piece, but because she was my model. She was definitely the loudest one and the only dog who did not walk straight down the runway. It was a memorable experience.
