A Day at School

My day started in the morning. I have done my morning routine, ate and went to school. There I met up with a colleague with whom I work on a CNC cutter. At first, we manually processed the raw material, then we started writing a program on the machine. The program consists of sentences which tell the machine what to do. Some basic ones are: “tool call” is the one with which you can change a tool, “line” is the one with which you perform a working movement. My colleague had to translate everything for me, because of Finnish instructions. We wrote the whole program and simulated it while writing so that we could check. When the program was complete, we put the machine in the reference point (that is the zero point of the machine). We then hoisted and calibrated the workpiece as well. Both of us measured each used tool and entered the sum. We flew over the program one last time and dropped it. The exercise was a success and we were both pleased.
