It`s so interesting that on our little planet we speak roughly 6,500 different languages. Of course, there are a lot of similarities among them. All today spoken languages belong to 135 identified language families which originate just from few linguistic groups.聽
During my stay in Finland聽until聽now people have聽taught聽me how to say hi and thank you in Finnnish.聽
Normally聽for me foreign languages aren`t a big obstacle, but this particular language it is so聽hard for me to understand even a word they say.聽
In my case it`s nice because Finnish聽are聽very good at speaking English and so am I, so there are no bigger problems in communicating even sometimes unknowing the language can still get you in very weird and also funny situations. For聽example,聽restaurant dialogs.聽
Last weekend we went to see Helsinki. Of聽course,聽after couple hours long adventure in the ZOO and long walk around the city we became hungry, so we decided to grab some pizza.
聽We found the Pizza hut so we ordered our food. The food was very tasty so we聽definitely聽charged our energy. Then the聽waiter came and said some words in Finnish and I聽automatically聽answered: 藵藵Yes, the food was very delicious.聽藵藵 Waiter answered me: 藵藵Well these were聽definitely聽the right words in the right聽moment.聽藵藵 Of聽course we all started to laugh because I didn`t even聽had a clue what I have heard at first, so he explained to me that he said the exact same words that I聽thought聽he did.聽
It was a little weird but聽definitely聽very funny experience. It taught me that nevertheless we speak different languages, we still have so many in common that we often understand each other without using the words.聽
