Spending free time abroad

ACTIVITIES

Fitness, table tennis, billiards, excursions into nature and the city, laser shooting, and afternoon workshop activities. These were the pastimes I/we engaged in after school, when classes were over and we didn’t know what else to do.

In the following paragraphs, I will describe some of these activities.

FITNESS

I attended the gym three to four times a week. It was only about 100 meters from where we were staying, and we usually went around 7 p.m., training for roughly an hour and a half. I trained each body part once a week, focusing on increasing both strength and muscle mass. The gym was very advanced, equipped with numerous machines, and maintained a high standard of cleanliness, organization, and overall pleasantness.

BILLIARDS

Before coming to Denmark, I had never played this game. It took me some time to learn how to aim the cue correctly, understand the rules, and turn the game to my advantage. The dormitory where we stayed organized a billiards tournament every Wednesday, which provided a great opportunity to practice and compete.

EXCURSIONS INTO NATURE

After hours of staring at a computer screen and pressing keys, I truly appreciated the chance to get some fresh air after school activities. Fortunately, there was a walking trail nearby, lined with lakes and forests. I enjoyed sitting on a bench, taking a moment to reflect and relax.

REFLECTION

I believe I made excellent use of my afternoons, experiencing many new and enjoyable things.
