The Spanish Way of Life

After staying here in Tenerife, I have observed what the Spanish way of life is like. The first thing that surprised me was how relaxed everyone and everything is.

One day, we were rushing to school because we thought we were going to be late, but when we arrived, we saw our teacher behind us. We were very relieved. The overall atmosphere is usually very calm and laid-back. On top of that, I would say people here are very friendly and warm. The teachers at school were very relaxed, and some even joked around with us. One time, I was craving some ice cream, so I went to a shop. I picked a small tub and went to the cashier. I asked if they had any spoons, and she said no, but then she left and came back with a pack of single-use spoons. She opened the package and gave me one, without charging anything extra. In restaurants, the staff were always very friendly. When we told them we were from Slovenia, they immediately mentioned Jan Oblak or Luka Dončič.

On this island, the vibe just feels calmer and happier. No one is rushing, and everyone seems to be smiling. At first this was quite a shock to me, but i got used to it. This has tought me to slow down and enjoy the moment more. I would like to bling a little of this home too, not just souvenirs.
