Slovenia vs. Spain

Slovenia and Spain are two completely different cultural countries. The first thing we noticed was how people greet each other. Here they greet each other with a hug and two kisses, while in Slovenia we mostly just shake hands.

Next thing we have noticed was that shopping in Spain is cheaper than in Slovenia. When we go to the market to buy some food we are always surprised about the price of products because in Slovenia we would pay twice the price for a product, while in Spain the same product is twice as cheap. When we were telling others here about prices in stores, they couldn’t believe that the prices were so high in Slovenia. They told us that the prices here are quite high for them, that’s why they were even more surprised by the prices in Slovenia. The other thing that surprised us was course of classes and their schedules. At first, we were shocked, that they have classes from four to ten in the evening. We are not used to this, as our classes take place mostly in the morning. Teachers also told us, that the students in the class are of quite different ages. The age of students varies from 18 to 30 years.

The most important difference between Slovenia and Spain is traffic. Here they don’t have normal roundabouts. They can’t even turn left in the intersection, which is very interesting for us Slovenian people. After all Spain and Slovenia has something in common, that is the kindness towards other people.
