100% for nature

Hola, todo bien?

On Saturday we decided to go and visit one of the top attractions in Tenerife, the famous Loro parque which is located in Puerto de la Cruz. We drove to there with a bus for a little more than an hour away from Santa Cruz. We stepped down at the end station and still had a 20minute walk to the zoo gates.

Loro parque is one of the biggest in the world and it was at first a “parrot paradise” (Loro is a Spanish word for parrots) but later on expanded it’s variety of animals there. I visited the park once before, but I was much younger and couldn’t remember exactly everything so I was just excited as the other three schoolmates. All the animals there were so cool to see, I usually don’t like/support park with lots of animals but as we watched live shows with sea lions, dolphins, orcas and parrots (where I got a little emotional too) I saw that the workers there really care and strive to have as good as a relationship with the animals as they can.

We also saw, lions, crocodiles all kinds of monkeys, from gorillas to chimpanzees and other small monkeys, a white tiger, black panther, flamingos, penguins and so much more. In my opinion the animals have enough space and are taken care of. Before the live shows they also play a video in which they raise awareness about sea pollution, animal extinction and overall to take care about nature so we can keep and increase the numbers of the animals.

We walked around so much, but it was fun. We were there for about 5 hours so we really took advantage of the time being there. Our legs hurt so much that we all agreed not to walk back to the station. Thankfully we saw a train that drove somewhere near there and we all agreed to sit and wait for it to take off. The ride with the train was rather funny. We then waited for the bus to come to drive us back to Santa Cruz, I couldn’t wait to sit and relax a bit. I was so tired that I feel asleep on the way back there.

We spent the day exploring and seeing new things, I was so glad that I had a chance to visit the park again. So I’ll say it for this as well, if you ever come I really recommend it to you, you won’t regret it. 😉
