It is weekend time and we decided to visit the oldest town in Denmark, a town called Ribe.

Ribe is a south-west Jutland Danish town, with a population of 8,287 people. It is a part of the enlarged Esbjerg Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark. Established in the early eighth century in the Germanic Iron Age, Ribe is the oldest town in Denmark and in Scandinavia.

Saturday morning, 11 am we walked to the train station, hopped on a train and headed towards Ribe. When arrived, we stopped at the viking museum. There we bought some souvenirs and went onward towards the city center. Firstly we walked through an energy park. Beautiful sun shining through the branches of the trees, making shadow shapes on the water surface.

In the center of the town we saw water mills, which were still running. We saw the main cathedral. The inside was beautiful.

We decided to go have a look at the remaining parts of a castle on the hill. The view from there was beautiful. Almost the whole city was seen.

Headed back to the train station and went home.
