In the weekend we visited the oldest town in Denmark, a town called Ribe
Ribe is a south-west Jutland Danish town, with a population of 8,287. 聽Until 1. of January 2007, Ribe was the seat of both a surrounding municipality, and county. Now it is a part of the enlarged Esbjerg Municipality in the Region of Southern Denmark. Ribe is the oldest town in Denmark and in Scandinavia, established in the early eighth century in the Germanic Iron Age.
At about eleven in the morning we hopped on a train and headed towards Ribe. When arrived we firts stopped at the viking museum, bought some souvenirs and then onward towards the towns center. We walked through an energy park and felt the energy of the nature.
In the center of the town we saw water mills, which were still running. We also saw the main cathedral and also went inside, it was beautiful.
After walking around the town for a bit we decided to go have a look at the remaining parts of the castle. And with that we also saw almost the whole town from the point of view.
We headed back to the train station and went back home.
